Location

 

Mauna Kea sits on the slope of Mauna Kea, the tallest mountain in the world when measured from sea level. Mauna Kea “White Mountain” for the white snow caps.

 

Located 1400 ft above sea level on the Hamakua Coast. Hamakua means “God’s breath” and is said to have taken God’s breath away because of the beauty of this land.  The Hamakua Coast is known for the historic battle where King Kamehameha united the Hawaiian islands.
